The 2018 Syracuse University Holiday Sharing Program
Syracuse University departments, groups, and individuals can help light up the holidays for families in need. Below are details for two community programs we are proud to support.
Salvation Army Christmas Bureau
Donate food and/or toys to the Salvation Army for their annual Christmas Bureau. Reference their suggestion lists for 2018 Toy Wish List. Food wish list includes canned beans, canned fruit, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned soup, stuffing, mac and cheese, tuna fish (no glass).
Drop off day for goods is Friday December 14 at the Oncenter. Distribution day is Wednesday December 19th.
PEACE, Inc. Adopt-A-Family Program
Select one, two, or all of the options below to participate. After submitting the participation form below, you will be contacted by PEACE, Inc. soon, with your assigned family.
Option 1. Adopt-A-Family
If your department chooses to adopt a family, you will be provided with a family wish list, which includes the first name, gender, age, and sizes of each family member along with gift suggestions. Please wrap and label each gift with a tag indicating the family code and the first name of the recipient.
Option 2. Fill a Basket with Household Supplies
Collect household items for your assigned family – or any one of PEACE’s families in need. PEACE, Inc., will send you a list of items typically needed by a low income family, including things like dish detergent, shampoo, laundry supplies, cooking essentials, board games and arts and crafts supplies. After you collect items, put them into a laundry basket for delivery.
Option 3. Collect Food or Items
Collect non-perishable food, gifts for teens, hats, mittens & scarves, gift cards for grocery stores, etc. You can be as creative as you like.
We invite you to participate by selecting any or all of the above options.
REMINDER: Delivery day for all PEACE, Inc., wrapped, tagged gifts, food, and household baskets is Tuesday, December 11th at assigned times – either 10 – 11 a.m. or 2 – 3 p.m., outside Gate D of the Carrier Dome. Enter Lot Q1 via Crouse Ave. and proceed to Gate D. Volunteers will load your donated items onto the PEACE, Inc. truck.
