Student Lobby Day in Albany

Students Lobby in Albany

Each February, after the governor releases his budget and before the Legislature passes its own version, Government and Community Relations leads a group of motivated C-STEP, HEOP, and TAP recipient students and their program directors to Albany. In face-to-face meetings with our senators and members of the Assembly, students speak honestly about how programs like TAP, C-STEP, and HEOP have helped them be successful in college. By joining in with hundreds of students from across New York State, this provides a very real opportunity for them to affect state business and have a voice in funding these critical higher-education programs.

We hope that you or a staff member will be available to speak with SU students on Student Lobby Day next February. It is a memorable experience for them, and one of which they can be proud. If you would like more information on Student Lobby Day, please call our office at 443-3919.
