Westcott Community Development Corporation
The Westcott CDC is a community development organization working towards improving the Westcott Business District adjacent to the University area. The Westcott CDC's strategy includes combining neighborhood services like groceries, newsstands and restaurants with unique retail shops and art galleries. Westcott CDC uses business development tools including incubation of new and struggling businesses, initiating cooperative marketing and promotional events within the area, leveraging private resources, and attracting new businesses. The organization also works with neighborhood housing organizations and credit unions to improve the residential area surrounding the Westcott Business District through the creation of a small revolving loan fund.
